Stillclean: An Innovative Approach to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rethinking Parts Washers, Service Contracts and Dirty Solvent

Great Resource

One of the Rice team passed this site along to me today. Terrific resource for all things pertaining to reduce, reuse and recycle. Nice widget to type in your zip code and return search results for recycling centers near you. Lube Stop is on this list as well as other Rice customers ready, willing and able to accept your used oil.

Rice Prepares for 2008 Recycling Days for Do-It-Yourselfer's Used Oil (and Their Old Cell Phones)

The Rice Companies are making plans for 2008 to marry Cell Phones for Soldiers with its MyGeneration program. For local businesses its a chance to build awareness for environmental sustainability. Simply put, we'll donate our assets for collection & recycling days for do-it-yourselfers that have stored up in their garages used oil, used filters and used antifreeze. (Do-it-yourselfers are folks that change their own oil in their cars and trucks).

Fast oil change locations, car dealerships, automotive service centers, car washes, VFW's, municipalities, schools and parks are examples of business and groups we’d like to partner with to promote environmental sustainability with the general public.

Do-it-yourselfers can drop off their used oil, used oil filters and used antifreeze that’s been stashed in their garages for years and feel confident that everything will be collected, transported and recycled with environmental sustainability (and EPA regs) guiding us all along the way.

(Yes, there are still folks who will be deaf to these collection & recycling days. They are either ignorant - don't know any better - or stupid - know better but do it anyways - and still dump used oil out back along the fence line, toss oil filters in the trash and pour used antifreeze down the drain. They are, fortunately, a dying breed.)

The Rice Companies launch Collection & Recycling Program with its Customers to Support Mission to Help Our Troops Phone Home

The Rice Companies join forces with Cell Phones for Soldiers and their mission to Help Our Troops Call Home. We help our customers collect and recycle so many waste streams (used oil, used oil filters, used antifreeze, flourescent bulbs, oily water, etc) why not help our customers' customers recycle their old cell phones, Treo's, Blackberry's and help our Soldier's abroad and their famlies at home at the same time?
We're going to our customer's businesses with environmental and lubrication products and services anyways, so why not collect what they collect from their customers, aggregate it all back at Rice and then bulk ship it to Cell Phones for Soldiers recycling partner. A no-brainer!

Lube Stop President, Tom Morley, Receives Forty Under 40 Recognition from Crain's

Congrats to Tom Morley, President of Lube Stop, the 37-locations fast oil change business in NE Ohio. Tom was recognized by Crain's Cleveland Business as one of the 2007 class of Forty Under 40's.

We're proud to be one of Tom's supporting partners as he leads by example through on-going initiatives to go green with environmental sustainability practices (recycling their used oil, used oil filters, used antifreeze, flourescent bulbs, etc.), creating "go-green" discount programs for other NE Ohio companies operating fuel efficient fleets and promoting environmentally friendly products such as our 50/50 antifreeze.
